2024 champion Molly Grabill and Twin Cities Marathon champion Victor Shitsama headline elite field competing for an $11,000 prize purse; a record 6,500 participants are expected Nov. 8

PITTSBURGH — Some of the nation's top distance runners are headed to Pittsburgh for the 2026 EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler & 10K on Sunday, Nov. 8, bringing elite competition to one of the region's signature running events. Led by 2024 race champion Molly Grabill and 2026 Twin Cities Marathon champion Victor Shitsama, the field will compete for a share of the $11,000 prize purse.

A record of nearly 6,500 participants are expected at this year's event, which welcomes runners of all experience levels for a day of community and celebration in Pittsburgh.

In the women's 10-mile race, Grabill returns to Pittsburgh after winning the event in 2024. The LaFayette, Colo., runner holds a 10-mile road race personal best of 52 minutes, 42 seconds.

“I love this race. It’s during a great time of year, and the energy is so fun,” Grabill said.”It’s a great tune up going into my December marathon, and I love the hills. I can’t wait to get back on the starting line in Pittsburgh.”

Grabill will face a competitive field that includes Elle Orie of Orchard Park, New York, who holds a half-marathon personal best of 1:22:22. Pittsburgh-area standout Chloe Bonson, champion of the 2026 City of Pittsburgh Great Race, also will compete, along with Kylie Anicic of Morgantown, West Virginia, who has a personal best of 57:04 in the 10-mile road race.

“I’m really excited for the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler and the opportunity to compete against such a talented field of elite runners in my home region,” Bonson said. “As a student at Carnegie Mellon, it’s awesome to have the chance to race in Pittsburgh. I’m especially looking forward to taking on the 10-mile distance for the first time, and I’m ready for the challenge!”

In the men’s race, Shitsama enters as a top contender following his victory at the 2026 Twin Cities Marathon. He boasts a half-marathon personal best of 1:02:07 and will face strong competition from 2021 EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler champion Chase Weaverling, who owns a 10-mile personal best of 49:05, and Zach Leachman, last year’s runner-up, who clocked 48:05.

“Pittsburgh holds a special spot in my running career as my sponsor Pro Bike + Run is located there,” Shitsama said. “It feels like a home race for me. … My fitness is in a great place, and if the elite field is good, we can shoot for a fast time.”

Beyond the competition, the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler & 10K delivers a one-of-a-kind race-day experience, featuring scenic views of Pittsburgh’s skyline and three iconic bridges. With more than 20 DJs, bands and live musical acts energizing runners along the course, the event celebrates the city’s vibrant running culture and brings together athletes, spectators and the community for an unforgettable day of movement.
