Volunteer with us
P3R, the engine behind Pittsburgh’s most transformative sporting events including the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend of Events, is seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications and will play a vital role in the growth of P3R’s brand through marketing and communications efforts. This role blends creativity with technical capability, requiring a balance of storytelling, brand alignment, and digital content management.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Manage website content, updates, and user experience, ensuring information is accurate, engaging, and optimized
● Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and administration of each website, prioritizing functionality
● Develop and implement website strategy in alignment with broader organizational objectives and digital marketing initiatives
● Work collaboratively with marketing and communications team to curate engaging content across platforms including web, social media, email marketing, and video
● Partner with Director of Data Strategy and Analytics to guide marketing decisions using insights derived from data analysis
● Develop digital and print graphics aligned with brand guidelines
● Coordinate with assigned partnership accounts to provide comprehensive marketing campaigns
● Also work in conjunction with operations and youth programming teams to ensure consistent messaging and information is shared across platforms
● Lead organizational marketing efforts on assigned events
● Work all P3R and client events
● Other tasks as assigned
Competencies:
● Passionate and enthusiastic self-starter

● High attention to detail and accuracy with an ability to prioritize workload
● Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external audiences

● Collaborative and driven to work in a team-oriented and diverse environment
● Outstanding customer service skills
● Background in fitness industry or sports a plus
● Proficient in graphic design platforms such as Canva and the Adobe Creative Suite
● Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google programs. Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
● Photography experience a plus.
Required qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree (experience in marketing and communications preferred)
● All applicants must have a valid driver’s license.

P3R: Kids of STEEL & RUN Varsity
SPRING INTERNSHIP
P3R Youth Programming Intern assisting with the Kids of STEEL and RUN Varsity programs January 2026 - May 2026 (flexible start and finish dates) Office located on Pittsburgh’s North Shore

INTERNSHIP DUTIES/STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Youth Programming Department in serving runners age 18 and under as they prepare for and participate in the DICK’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend. Duties may include:
- Attending Kids of STEEL site practices with P3R staff
- Leading workouts and activities at community outreach events
- Sharing your knowledge by drafting content for blogs, social media, and newsletters
- Creating marketing materials to promote events and advance the mission of P3R
- Monitoring & researching best practices to stay ahead of industry trends
- Assisting with Kids of STEEL site recruitment
- Assisting with Kids of STEEL Fest and marathon weekend volunteer recruitment
- Assisting with P3R’s spring events such as the Marathon Kickoff Training Run (January 10), Parade Day Dash (March 14), Kids of STEEL Fest (March 28), etc
- Contribute to the planning and execution of the Pittsburgh Kids Marathon – one of the largest kids’ races in the country on May 2, 2026
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Passion for the mission of P3R
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible scheduling including several evenings or weekend dates
- Ability to instruct others in physical activity
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Background Clearance
- Reliable mode of transportation to and from the P3R office and events

COMPENSATION
Interns will be paid an hourly rate and will work an average of 15 to 20 hours per week, depending on schedules and events.
