The 2026 In-person America's Mile Has Been Canceled
Due to Air Quality Index (AQI) levels remaining at unhealthy and hazardous levels, the 2026 America's Mile in-person event scheduled for Friday, July 17 has been canceled. After closely monitoring conditions and consulting with our medical partners at UPMC, we have determined that the current air quality conditions do not allow us to provide a safe environment for our participants, volunteers, spectators, and staff.
We are deeply disappointed to make this decision, but the health and safety of everyone involved will always be our top priority.
Registered participants will receive additional information via email about their options. We sincerely appreciate everyone's understanding and support. Please stay safe through these unique conditions.
All participants will receive their shirt, medal and bib.
Medals will be mailed to those who picked up their packets at DICK’S House of Sport yesterday. Shirts, medals, and bibs will be mailed to all other participants. Packages can be expected in mid-August.
Participants registered for America’s Mile will have three options for their registration fees:
- Participants can Donate their 2026 America’s Mile registration to the Kids of STEEL program. More information about Kids of STEEL can be found here.
- Participants can elect to receive a Refund for their registration fee.
- Participants can Defer their registration to 2027 America’s Mile.
All decisions are final and must be made by Friday, July 24, 2026.
