Lace up your sneakers, put on your green, and get ready to MOVE! P3R invites you to join us for the second annual Pittsburgh Parade Day Dash Presented by GNC, a vibrant and family-friendly celebration happening on March 14, just before the start of Pittsburgh’s iconic America’s Grand St. Patrick’s Day Event!

This event will feature a 5K and a 1-Mile Family Fun Run/Walk following a scenic route through Pittsburgh. 

Participants will receive a limited edition hoodie, finisher medal, and bib included in their registration for both timed events. Can’t make it to the Steel City on Parade Day, but still want to participate and get your hands on these finisher items? We are offering a virtual registration option to show off your Parade Day pride from anywhere!

From the finish line to the fluid stations, we need the help of volunteers to make race day a success! 

FAQs

You will receive a limited edition hoodie ($49.99) value, finisher medal and race bib. The 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Run will be timed.

The course pace limit is 20 minutes/mile for all events.

Strollers and baby joggers are only permitted in the 1 Mile Family Fun Run. Bicycles, skateboards, scooters, roller skates and rollerblades are not permitted on the course at any time.

You can use the ParkPGH app to see which parking garages/lots in the area have spaces available.

There is no minimum age for the 5K and the 1 Mile events.

There will be road closures. Please stay tuned for more information as we get closer to race weekend.

Dogs are only permitted in the 1 Mile Family Fun Run course. If you have a service animal, you may participate in the 5K and 1 Mile event. Please contact info@p3r.org for approval.

There are awards for the 5K.

Top 3 Male, Top 3 Female, Top 3 Non-Binary

Age Group Awards for Male and Female:

11 & Under, 12-13, 14-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

The only items that will be handed out during the event are bananas and water. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please plan accordingly. Your safety and enjoyment are our priority.

At P3R, we are committed to providing delicious and nutritious food options for all participants. We understand the importance of catering to various dietary needs and ensuring transparency about the ingredients used in the food we offer. Below is important information regarding allergens and nutrition for the food items being served:

Allergens:

  • Our food items may contain allergens such as peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, soy, wheat, eggs, and fish.
  • We take precautions to avoid cross-contamination, but please be aware that our food is prepared in a facility that handles allergens.

Nutrition:

  • We strive to offer balanced options that cater to different dietary preferences.
  • Nutrition information, including calorie count, macronutrient breakdown, and ingredient list, is available upon request.
  • If you have specific dietary concerns or require further information about any of our offerings, please don't hesitate to ask our staff.
 

So many upfront costs are included in your registration that we’re unable to offer refunds or deferments. As a non-profit organization, P3R’s mission is to inspire any and all to MOVE with us. Any revenue we bring in goes directly toward that mission, including our focus on helping more than 8,000 kids in more than 200 schools through our Kids of STEEL program.

If you can no longer attend the race in person, you do have some options:

  • Switch to the virtual event and run your race whenever and wherever you like (we’ll ship your gear to you)
  • Transfer your registration to another participant

You may switch your Pittsburgh Parade Day Dash registration by logging into your Race Roster account. Please note that there is a transfer fee plus any applicable change in registration fees

If you notice a non-emergency issue, such as a pothole, a hazardous sidewalk, or a downed wire, please call 3-1-1 to report it to city services.  3-1-1 service requests are directed within 24 hours to the city agency that works to solve your issues.  City agencies respond to requests as quickly as possible.  

For suspected crimes or non-urgent safety concerns, contact 3-1-1.

Please call 9-1-1 for emergencies, such as reporting a crime, fire, or medical emergency or if the situation poses an immediate threat to someone's safety or life.

If you are unable to run this event in-person, you can select the virtual option during the registration process. We will mail all of your race items to you (you don't need to come to packet pick up) and you can complete your event at your own convenience. If registered by March 1, 2026, we anticipate delivery of your race items prior to race day. Anyone registered after March 1, 2026 will have an anticipated delivery the week of March 23, 2026.
