Races & Runs
FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk presented by CNX Resources
Now in our eighth year, the FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk presented by CNX Resources is your family's chance to race the runway! This unique course gives participants exclusive access to run through the airfield and taxiways of Pittsburgh International Airport, a true behind-the-scenes look and a side of the airport few get to see.
This family-friendly race makes it possible for everyone to race the runways and earn their wings! There are two options to participate: the 5K (a timed 3.1-mile course) and the 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk (untimed), so there's something for everyone. Both courses are stroller-friendly, and children younger than 4 years old can register for free.*
The FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk is regularly listed as a can't-miss family event in Pittsburgh!
Proceeds from the FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk benefit the Allegheny County Airport Authority Charitable Foundation. This foundation helps facilitate the comfort of active military personnel and veterans who utilize the airports, as well as coordinates flights for active military members' families, grants post-secondary education aviation scholarships, and beautifies the airports through arts and cultural displays among other initiatives. In 2023, P3R was able to donate $34,000 to the Allegheny County Airport Authority Foundation.
*Children aged four or younger on race day can register at no charge; however, due to FAA requirements for who can be on the property, these children must be officially registered for the event and wear their assigned race bib to identify them as event participants.
Here are 5 reasons your family shouldn't miss this year's race!
