FlyBy 5K to Pause in 2025 Due to Ongoing Terminal Construction at Pittsburgh International Airport
Beloved race will return in 2026 even bigger and better
PITTSBURGH– The FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk, presented by CNX Resources, will take a one-year hiatus in 2025 due to continued progress on the construction of the new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport.
The unique event, which gives participants a rare opportunity to run on the runway and see aircraft up close, has grown steadily over the years, drawing more than 1,800 runners and walkers in 2024 – a record turnout for the race.
“We’re already working with the Allegheny County Airport Authority to ensure the 2026 FlyBy 5K is worth the wait and delivers the same thrilling experience our runners know and love,” said Troy Schooley, P3R CEO.
The FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk, which benefits the Allegheny County Airport Authority Charitable Foundation, features a flat, fast course along an airport taxiway and runway with a festival atmosphere that includes aircraft displays, airport equipment, family-friendly activities, and more.
More information about the 2026 FlyBy 5K and 2-Mile Fun Run/Walk will be shared at a later date. To learn about other ways to move with P3R in 2025, visit P3R.org.
