P3R Announces Road Closures for the 2025 YMCA Turkey Trot Presented by UPMC Health Plan
More than 8,000 participants expected at this beloved Thanksgiving tradition, supporting local food pantry programs
PITTSBURGH – P3R has announced road closures for the 35th annual YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh Turkey Trot, presented by UPMC Health Plan, scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27. This beloved holiday tradition is expected to welcome more than 8,000 participants from 38 states, Great Britain, France, Ireland, Australia, and Canada — all coming together to support the YMCA food pantry programs and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
This year’s races include the 5-Mile presented by FedEx, 5K presented by UPMC Health Plan, 1-Mile Family Fun Run presented by Busy Beaver, and the Double Gobble presented by Huntington Bank (5K and 5-Mile). All races will start on West General Robinson Street and finish on North Shore Drive near PNC Park.
Both the 5K and 5-Mile courses will cross the Andy Warhol and Roberto Clemente Bridges, offering participants scenic views of Downtown Pittsburgh before returning to the North Shore.

Road Closures and Parking Information:
Road closures for the event will be in effect from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. In addition, parking restrictions will begin at 4:30 a.m. along roads included in the race routes. Vehicles remaining on the course after 4:30 a.m. will be towed. Residents and businesses in the area are encouraged to plan accordingly to minimize disruptions.
