P3R Opens $10,000 Grant Application for U.S. Marathon Olympic Trials Qualifying Athletes

To help aid training needs and travel expenses, P3R’s American Development Program opens two-week application opportunity

PITTSBURGH, PA (January 17, 2020) – P3R established the first-ever P3R Local Elite Grant to provide support for the 11 local athletes that qualified for the U.S. Marathon Olympic Trials -- Jennifer Bigham, Nicholas Edinger, Roberta Groner, Laura Harnish, Margo Malone, Shannon Malone, Clara Santucci, Juris Silenieks, Jim Spisak, Elaina Tabb and Justin Taylor.

The U.S. Marathon Olympic Trials in Atlanta, Georgia are only six weeks away, and P3R is excited to support these passionate athletes who will represent Pittsburgh at trials. The grant is established through P3R’s American Development Program, which initiates programs to propel local runners in their career, international standings, and world-renowned athletic events.

“We are excited to support these local athletes who represent Pittsburgh so well in the endurance industry,” said Troy Schooley, P3R CEO. “It’s always special when they can participate in one of our races, but it’s even better seeing them qualify for the Olympic Trials.”

Runners who have qualified for the Olympic Trials can apply for the grant by submitting this completed form by January 31, 2020.
