Record Number of Participants Celebrate 10th Anniversary of the Yinzer 4.12K
Nearly 800 yinzers participated in this year’s event on the North Shore and virtually, raising funds for Light of Life Rescue Mission and its work to support the homeless and most vulnerable in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH – A record number of nearly 800 yinzers wore their finest Pittsburgh attire while celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Yinzer 4.12K on the North Shore or participating virtually this morning. This year’s event raised more than $93,000 for the Light of Life Rescue Mission and its work for the homeless in our community.
Runners dressed in their finest Pittsburgh attire with a “best dressed yinzer” award and other Pittsburgh prizes handed out at the event. The event also featured a Lil’ Yinzer Fun Run for participants 13 and under. Participants enjoyed a post-race celebration on the Great Lawn including a performance by Emmy-award winning hip-hop artist FRZY, food trucks, and more.
“We are thrilled with how much the event has grown and how much impact it has had on our organization for the past 10 years,” said Jerrel Gilliam, Executive Director of Light of Life Rescue Mission. “The funds raised through this event help us reach more men, women and children experiencing homelessness, poverty, or addiction and offer them a place of hope and healing.”
Light of Life once again partnered with P3R, the engine behind Pittsburgh’s greatest races, to produce this year’s event.
“We are thrilled to partner with Light of Life to grow this event and inspire more families to move together,” said Troy Schooley, P3R CEO. “We look forward to continuing this partnership and enhancing the race experience each year.”
