Runners to Celebrate the Best of Pittsburgh at the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler

P3R announced today that registration is now open for the 2019 EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler. Scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, the 10-mile race will once again offer participants a scenic tour of the Steel City, starting in Station Square and finishing in front of EQT Plaza on Liberty Avenue in Downtown.

P3R (Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc.) announced today that registration is now open for the 2019 EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler. Scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 2, the 10-mile race will once again offer participants a scenic tour of the Steel City, starting in Station Square and finishing in front of EQT Plaza on Liberty Avenue in Downtown.

New this year, the course will feature a start-to-finish entertainment program to motivate runners and celebrate the City of Pittsburgh. In addition to a slate of musicians, cheer groups, and other entertainment to boost runners’ spirits from start to finish, each mile will showcase a different and uniquely Pittsburgh theme.

From a Sports Mile highlighting our local sports team to a Pittsburghese Mile with signs exclaiming “Yinz Got This ‘N At,” P3R will bring runners something new and exciting as they move from mile to mile. Each mile’s theme and related activities will be announced via social media as the race draws near, so runners and spectators are encouraged to connect with P3R to know what they can expect!

"Entertainment along the course really makes a difference for runners, so we are thrilled to enhance the party atmosphere that race day already brings to the Steel City,” said Troy Schooley, incoming P3R CEO. “We hope the sights, sounds and energy of additional entertainment will help to push runners onto that next mile and remind them why Pittsburgh is considered one of the best cities for runners.”

More than 5,000 are expected to register for the seventh edition of Pittsburgh’s favorite fall road race, which will be held on a Saturday for the first time in the history of the race. In addition to the full 10-mile race, P3R offers a two-person relay option so that runners of all abilities can MOVE. All those who register for and complete the EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler — including relay participants — will receive a long-sleeve technical men’s or women’s finisher’s shirt, premium runner bag and medal, as well as enjoy post-race food and entertainment.

"We are excited and look forward to a more engaging race course this year,” said Ellen Rossi, EQT Foundation Manager. “A heightened sense of community throughout the race will showcase Pittsburgh neighborhoods and may even lead to increased economic activity for businesses along the course on race morning."

Early bird registration for the 2019 EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler opens at $45 for individual runners and $80 for the two-person relay. The price will increase to $50 for individual runners and $90 for the two-person relay on Tuesday, June 4.
