Cape, Cape, CAPE KID
Objective: To help children build social skills, listening, coordination, and body control while practicing taking turns and following group rules.
Equipment/Setup
- Adequate space for movement
- Open area large enough for a circle
- Optional: Soft floor surface or mats for comfort
How to Play: Children sit in a circle facing in, with one child walking around the outside of it, gently tapping each person's head, saying "Cape, Cape, Cape...". They will do this until they choose someone to be it, where they will say "CAPE KID", when they touch their head. The "CAPE KID" will stand up and chase the head tapper around the circle, trying to tag them before they sit in the open spot of the circle. If tagged, the tapper goes again; if not, the "CAPE KID" becomes the new tapper. Repeat so everyone has a turn.
