Red Light, Green Light
Objective: To build listening skills, self-control, and body awareness through stop-and-go movement play.
Equipment/Setup
- Outdoor/indoor open space
- Cones/markers for start and finish line
- Red and Green visual cues
How to Play: Children start on one end with leader on the other. When the leader calls "Green Light", participants move toward leader. On "Red Light", they stop. "Yellow Light", you move slowly. When you reach the leader, you win!
Modification Chart

| 🟢 2-3 year old | Play with clear start/stop cues. For an extra challenge, introduce "Yellow Light". | Listening Skills, Body Awareness |
| 🟠 3-4 year old | Add running or hopping on "Green Light" and for an extra challenge, freeze in different poses. | Coordination, Following Directions |
| 🔴 4-5 year old | Add extra challenges (one foot hop, walk backwards, skip). Use color cards instead of words to increase learning and observation skills. | Rule Following, Competition Skills |
