P3R Celebrates Global Running Day in Pittsburgh

Organization behind Pittsburgh’s greatest races unveils new, revitalized brand identity and offers discounted registrations for upcoming races

PITTSBURGH (June 4, 2019) – P3R, the engine behind Pittsburgh’s greatest races like the DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend of events, is thrilled to introduce a new, revitalized brand identity. This move is a step forward for the organization that strives to Keep Pittsburgh Running and connected through health and fitness education and activities for all ages and abilities.

Keep Pittsburgh Running is a rallying cry that begins with P3R but can be picked up and carried like a banner by all Pittsburghers, regardless of skill level. It’s a powerful declaration that fully reflects P3R’s mission and passion, and it invites others to join the movement to spread the love of running throughout the City of Pittsburgh and beyond.

“We want to help the people of Pittsburgh get moving,” said incoming CEO Troy Schooley. “P3R is behind our race participants – and our city – no matter how you move. Whatever the reason why, whatever race you choose, we invite you to Run with P3R.”

P3R strives to inspire any and all to run with us. Having a strong brand identity that reflects this mission is essential as the organization and our team continues to focus on ensuring runners, partners, supporters and the entire City of Pittsburgh enjoy a world-class experience.

The revitalized brand identity includes an overhaul of the logo and voice, concentrating on action, effort and love of movement. P3R is also introducing a new tagline to highlight individual stories of those who Run with P3R.

Additionally, P3R is excited to offer the inaugural RUNwithP3R medal to all who run P3R’s three signature races in one calendar year. All runners who participated in the 2019 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend of events will be eligible to receive the first-ever RUNwithP3R medal when they also complete the 2019 Fleet Feet Liberty Mile on Aug. 9 and the 2019 EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler on Nov. 2. This unique challenge is just another way P3R will Keep Pittsburgh Running year-round.

“At P3R, we want to celebrate the sport of running and everyone who loves it, so sharing this exciting news in conjunction with Global Running Day is no coincidence,” said Schooley. “On the one day each year specifically designated to connect runners across the world, we want to renew our commitment to spread the love of running and inspire any and all to keep moving. Pittsburgh has become one of the best cities for running, and P3R will help to keep it that way.”

As part of the Global Running Day celebration, P3R is offering discounted registration rates for its upcoming summer and fall races. Runners should watch the RUNwithP3R social media channels all day on Wednesday, June 5 to take advantage of these one-day-only discounts.
