P3R Opens Grant Application for Small Local Pittsburgh Races
Local organizations can apply for grants that will help theircanceled or virtual events still contribute to charitable causes
PITTSBURGH, PA (June 12, 2019) – Efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 continue to mean the cancellation of event after event -- specifically endurance events that support worthwhile causes. To help ensure these local events and their charitable causes continue to thrive in the coming years, P3R is proud to announce grants available for western Pennsylvania races.
Events that have turned to the virtual space or were completely canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic can apply for P3R’s grants to help ensure financial stability.
“People are turning to running now more than ever before,” said P3R CEO Troy Schooley. “But without a live event, not every race will make it to 2021. We hope these grants will help, but it’s really up to runners to participate in these local events and contribute so these races survive.”
P3R encourages the Pittsburgh community to run locally and support not just P3R’s races, but all local races as opposed to new virtual-only events that didn’t exist before.
