Runner Spotlight: Maya Poziviak

P3R is proud of local runners that work hard every day to hit their goal. It is extra special when a P3R race creates a special impact on a runner of any age and background or becomes the next goal in their running career!

Maya has been running since 7th grade, but never competitively until just recently. She got more into running over this past summer as the pandemic affected her normal activities. She used running to train for soccer but fell in love with the sport when she noticed how much faster she was at her first cross-country meet.

Through running, Maya has met new friends and found an outlet for stress relief.

“Running, for me, is a stress reliever! If I’m stressed about something at school, I just run faster!! Running gives me a sense of freedom and I love the feeling of self-satisfaction I receive when I get done!”

Maya is gearing up and has started training to participate in this year’s DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon! Next in her career, Maya will also be running at the collegiate level with Robert Morris University and cannot wait to see her speed continue increasing!
