The P3R Board of Directors' Scholarship is Open for Applications
The P3R Board of Directors' Scholarship was established to recognize and support graduating high school seniors who inspire others to MOVE. This scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional leadership and service, both through and beyond athletics. Applications for 2024 are now open.
P3R has renewed the Board of Directors Scholarship Grant to aim for any upcoming high school seniors who demonstrate inspiration to MOVE. This scholarship program is based on the P3R Board of Directors, which will choose the candidate who exhibits leadership and a commitment to community service.
Candidates should demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, not just only in the sports world but also in their community or other school activities. The key focus of this scholarship is on individuals who serve as catalysts in motivating others to adopt healthier lifestyles through physical activity. Candidates should have a history of inspiring and encouraging their peers or community members to stay active and prioritize their well-being.
Beyond sports, applicants should have a proven track record of leadership in other areas, such as student government, clubs, volunteering organizations, or community initiatives. This might involve organizing events, leading projects, or mentoring others. Applicants should demonstrate how they motivate and inspire others to engage in physical activity, whether it's through coaching, organizing fitness programs, leading exercise groups, or advocating for healthy living. A strong candidate will show tangible evidence of their influence on others, encouraging them to adopt healthier habits and an active lifestyle. This could be through personal testimonies, success stories, or measurable changes in the behavior of peers or the community.
Up to $25,000 has been allocated for distribution through two distinctions: The P3R Scholarship Awards will be $4,000 and the P3R Commendation Awards of $1,000 will be distributed to finalists in the selection process. Recipients of the $4,000 scholarship will be honored during the DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend of Events VIP reception taking place on May 3, 2024.

Please complete this form in its entirety (all questions are required) and save it as a WORD document under "[Applicant's Name] - P3R Scholarship." To submit your application, please email the WORD file, an electronic copy of your high school transcript, and letter(s) of support from a coach, supervisor, teacher, or school administrator verifying your leadership skills and abilities to scholarship@p3r.org . The deadline to submit your completed application is March 15, 2024. Scholarship Winners and Commendation Award Winners will be notified on April 9, 2024. Please be aware that Scholarship Winners will be requested to attend an awards dinner in downtown Pittsburgh on Friday, May 3, 2024.
